About the FAQ Schema Generator

FAQPage markup lists the questions on a page and the answer to each. For years it produced expandable FAQ rich results, but Google stopped showing those for all sites in May 2026. The markup itself is still valid schema.org, so it can continue to describe your Q&A content in a structured way for other systems that read schema; just do not add it expecting extra space in Google results.

This FAQ schema generator builds the JSON-LD in your browser, keeping your text on your device. Each Question needs a name and an acceptedAnswer with text, and every question and answer must appear on the page. If you already have FAQ markup, there is no need to rush to remove it. If users submit questions and answers, as on a forum, use QAPage markup instead.

How to use it

  1. Write each question and its full answer as it appears on the page.
  2. Add the pairs to the generator in the same order.
  3. Generate the FAQPage JSON-LD and check for warnings.
  4. Copy it into the page only if the FAQs are visible there.

Frequently asked questions

Does Google still show FAQ rich results?

No. Google stopped displaying FAQ rich results for all sites in May 2026. FAQPage remains a valid schema.org type and Google's tools can still parse it, but it no longer produces the expandable question list in search results. Other search engines and tools that read schema.org may still use it.

Should I remove FAQ schema from my site?

There is no need to rush. Valid FAQPage markup does no harm, and the visible FAQ section can still help readers. Focus new effort on markup types that still support Google features for your content, such as Product, Article or LocalBusiness, and keep FAQs only where they genuinely help visitors.

What is the difference between FAQPage and QAPage?

FAQPage is for a list of questions and answers written by the site owner, where each question has one answer. QAPage is for a page built around a single question that users answer, such as a community forum thread, where there may be several answers and one accepted answer.
