About the QR Code Generator
QR codes connect print, packaging and in-store displays to your website or chat. This QR code generator creates codes for URLs, plain text, phone numbers, WhatsApp chats, email messages and Wi-Fi login details. For URLs you can add UTM parameters, so scans show up in GA4 under the campaign you choose instead of as direct traffic.
Codes are generated in your browser and can be downloaded as PNG for quick use or SVG for sharp printing at any size. These are static codes: the content is encoded in the pattern itself, so there is no expiry or redirect service, but you cannot change the destination after printing. Test every code on a couple of phones before sending artwork to print.
How to use it
- Choose the type of QR code: URL, text, phone, WhatsApp, email or Wi-Fi.
- Enter the details and add UTM tags for URLs if you want tracking.
- Preview the code and scan it with your phone.
- Download as PNG or SVG for your design.
Frequently asked questions
Do these QR codes expire?
No. They are static QR codes, so the data is stored in the code itself and does not depend on any service staying online. The trade-off is that you cannot edit the destination later; to change it, generate and print a new code.
How do I track QR code scans?
Add UTM parameters to the URL before generating the code, for example utm_source=poster and utm_medium=qr. Visits from scans then appear in your analytics under that source and medium. Use a different utm_source or utm_content value for each placement, such as flyer, menu or packaging, so you can see which one drives the most visits.
PNG or SVG: which should I download?
SVG is a vector format that stays sharp at any size, ideal for print and large signage. PNG is easy to drop into documents, slides and social posts. Leave a clear margin around the code and keep good contrast. Always test print size.
