How the free audit works

Evidence first. Then the fix.

  1. We fetch the page like a crawler. Every redirect hop is recorded, and private or internal network addresses are refused.
  2. We read what search engines read. Status code, headers, title, description, canonical, robots directives, headings, images, links and JSON-LD.
  3. We check the site files. robots.txt rules are tested for Googlebot and the XML sitemap is validated.
  4. You get prioritised findings. Critical, warning and notice — each with the evidence we saw and how to fix it.

We never show made-up search volumes, traffic or “domain authority”. Performance data comes from Google’s PageSpeed Insights API and is labelled with its source and date.

Safe by design

Live checks are rate-limited, size-limited and can only reach public websites. Browser tools never send what you type to our server.

No ranking promises

A clean audit removes obstacles; it cannot guarantee positions, rich results or AI citations. We say so plainly.

Is the audit really free?

Yes. The single-page audit and every tool listed here are free to use without an account, within an hourly limit for live checks.

Does the audit crawl my whole website?

No. It checks the page you enter, follows its redirects, and reads the site’s robots.txt and XML sitemap. Multi-page crawling for verified sites is planned for paid plans.

What is the score?

A simple heuristic: 100 minus 12 per critical issue, 5 per warning and 1 per notice. It helps you track progress on our checks. It is not a Google metric and does not predict rankings.

Why does a page work in my browser but fail here?

Some sites block automated requests, sit behind a login, or render content with JavaScript, which our fetcher does not execute. The audit reports exactly what it received.
