About the Course Schema Generator

Course markup describes an educational course: its name, description, the organization that provides it and its instances, such as an online batch or a weekend classroom session. Google phased out the Course info rich result in 2025, so this markup will no longer produce course details in Google Search results. The type is still valid schema.org, and the information can still help other platforms and systems that read structured data understand your course catalogue.

This course schema generator builds the JSON-LD in your browser. Keep the name and description identical to the visible page, link the provider to your Organization markup, and add a CourseInstance for each mode or schedule you run. If your main goal is visibility in Google, focus on strong course page content, Organization markup and reviews collected on third-party platforms rather than expecting a rich result.

How to use it

  1. Enter the course name, description and provider organization.
  2. Add a course instance for each mode or schedule you offer.
  3. Check the details match the visible course page.
  4. Copy the JSON-LD into the course page.

Frequently asked questions

Does Google still show course rich results?

Google phased out the Course info rich result in 2025, so Course markup no longer produces those course details in search results. Check Google's Search Gallery for current education features before investing time in markup expecting a visual result. The markup itself remains valid schema.org and is not penalised.

Is it still worth adding Course schema?

It can be, if adding it is easy. The markup is valid and gives a structured description of your course and provider that other systems may read. If time is limited, prioritize clear course pages, Organization and BreadcrumbList markup, which still have defined uses in Google.

What is a CourseInstance?

A CourseInstance is one specific offering of a course, such as an online self-paced version, a live evening batch or an in-person workshop on certain dates. It lets one Course have several delivery modes and schedules without repeating the course description.
