About the Website Speed Comparison

Speed numbers are easier to judge in context. This website speed comparison tool runs PageSpeed Insights on two public URLs and lays out their real-user Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS from the Chrome UX Report) and Lighthouse lab metrics next to each other, so differences stand out immediately.

Common uses include comparing your page against a competitor ranking for the same keyword, checking a redesigned page against the old version, or comparing two templates on your own site. Compare similar page types, such as product page to product page, for a fair result. If a competitor is much faster, look at their page weight, image formats and script count for ideas. Lab results vary between runs, so repeat the test before drawing conclusions.

How to use it

  1. Enter your page URL.
  2. Enter the second URL to compare against.
  3. Review field and lab metrics side by side.
  4. Investigate the metrics where your page falls behind.

Frequently asked questions

Can I compare my site with a competitor's?

Yes. Any publicly accessible URL can be tested through PageSpeed Insights, including competitor pages. Field data will appear only if the site has enough real Chrome traffic to be included in the Chrome UX Report. Lab data is always available for any page that loads.

Does being faster than competitors improve rankings?

Not on its own. Page experience is one of many signals, and relevance and content quality usually matter more. Being faster can help visitors stay and convert, which is a good reason to close a large speed gap. Focus on the metrics where the gap is largest.

Why do results differ from a single test?

Each URL is tested in a separate Lighthouse run, and conditions such as server load and third-party scripts vary. Small differences in lab metrics may be noise. Field data is more stable because it is based on 28 days of real visits.
