About the SEO Content Checker

Before you publish, this SEO content checker reviews your draft against a focus keyword. It checks whether the keyword appears in the title, the first paragraph and at least one subheading, whether the title and meta description are a sensible length, how readable the text is, whether there are enough subheadings, links and images, and whether the keyword is overused.

Each check explains what it found so you can decide what to change. The score is a checklist, not a prediction of rankings, and some checks will not fit every page; a short product description does not need ten subheadings. Use it to catch obvious gaps such as a title that never mentions the topic. The draft is analyzed in your browser, so unpublished content stays private.

How to use it

  1. Enter your focus keyword.
  2. Paste the draft title, meta description and body (HTML or plain text).
  3. Review each check and the overall score.
  4. Fix the most important gaps and re-check before publishing.

Frequently asked questions

What should a focus keyword be?

It should be the main phrase the page is meant to rank for, usually the one that best describes its topic and matches searcher intent. Choose one primary phrase per page and support it with related terms rather than trying to target many unrelated keywords.

Is a 100% score necessary?

No. The score combines general best practices that may not all apply to your page. A clear, accurate page that answers the search well can rank without ticking every box. Use failed checks as prompts to review, not as rules to follow blindly.

Should I paste HTML or plain text?

Either works. Pasting HTML lets the checker count headings, links and images more accurately. Plain text still gets the keyword placement, length and readability checks, but structure checks will be limited. Copy the HTML view from your editor or CMS if it offers one, so headings, links and images in the draft can be counted correctly.
