About the NAP Consistency Checker

Your business details appear in many places: your website, Google Business Profile, Justdial, Facebook, IndiaMART, maps apps and industry directories. Over time they drift, with an old phone number here, a missing shop number there. The NAP consistency checker compares each pasted listing with your master record after normalizing abbreviations, punctuation and phone formats, so Rd and Road or +91 and 0 prefixes do not count as errors, and highlights only the differences that matter.

Everything runs in your browser, so the details you paste stay on your device. Use the results as a to-do list: update each listing to match the master record exactly, starting with your Google Business Profile and the directories that customers actually use. Re-run the check after moving premises, changing numbers or rebranding.

How to use it

  1. Enter your correct business name, address and phone as the master record.
  2. Paste the NAP details from each listing you want to compare.
  3. Review the highlighted mismatches for each listing.
  4. Update the incorrect listings and re-check.

Frequently asked questions

Why does NAP consistency matter for local SEO?

Consistent details make it easy for search engines and customers to trust that every listing refers to the same business. Conflicting addresses or phone numbers can send customers to the wrong place, and can make it harder for search engines to connect your listings with confidence.

Do small formatting differences count as NAP errors?

Usually not. Road versus Rd, a comma, or a phone written with or without +91 refers to the same details, which is why this tool normalizes them before comparing. Focus on real differences, such as a different street, an old number or a variant business name.

Where should I start fixing inconsistent listings?

Start with your Google Business Profile and website, since they are the most visible. Then fix the major directories and social profiles customers use in your area and industry. Keep a simple spreadsheet of every listing, its login and the date you last checked it.
